Strategic Partnership with Payentry Fuels Equifax’s Growth Trajectory

Equifax Inc. is reinforcing its strategic growth initiatives through a newly announced alliance. The data analytics leader has entered into a significant partnership designed to bolster its dominant position in the Workforce Solutions sector, a primary engine for its expansion. This development arrives at a time when the company’s shares have faced recent market pressure.

Analyst Confidence and Financial Outlook

Market sentiment received a notable boost from UBS Group, which revised its position on Equifax shares on September 19, 2025. The firm reaffirmed its “Buy” recommendation while increasing its price target to $297 from $287. This new target suggests a potential upside of approximately 13.8% from the previous day’s closing price. This optimistic move aligns with the broader analyst consensus from September 16, 2025, which also maintained a “Buy” rating with average price targets ranging between $284.80 and $287.47.

Expanding Capabilities Through Payentry Integration

The company formalized a pivotal collaboration with Payentry, a provider of payroll and human capital management solutions, on September 18, 2025. The core of this partnership involves integrating Equifax’s premier service, The Work Number, directly into Payentry’s platform. This integration will enable Payentry’s clients to utilize The Work Number for streamlined employment and income verification processes.

A key benefit of this system is its ability to facilitate secure, automated data sharing for major financial transactions, such as mortgage applications, auto loans, and government benefit requests. Employees can grant Equifax direct authorization to provide their verified data to qualified third parties, including lenders and government agencies. This process significantly reduces the need for manual intervention from human resources departments, offering greater efficiency for employers and faster, more secure verification for employees.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Equifax?

Cloud and AI-Driven Strategic Shift

Beyond partnerships, Equifax is executing a broader technological transformation. During the JPMorgan U.S. All Stars Conference on September 16, 2025, CEO Mark Begor and CFO John Gamble detailed the company’s successful shift to an offensive growth strategy. This pivot was made possible by the near-completion of its cloud migration, with over 90% of its revenue now generated through its cloud-based infrastructure.

A major focus of this new strategy is artificial intelligence. To accelerate its AI capabilities, Equifax inaugurated a state-of-the-art AI Innovation Lab in Ireland in September. This facility is dedicated to creating next-generation AI solutions aimed at enhancing credit risk assessment and promoting greater financial inclusion.

Long-Term Growth Objectives

Equifax has established ambitious long-term financial targets, projecting organic revenue growth between 7% and 10%. The company also anticipates expanding its margins by 50 basis points annually. While acknowledging potential headwinds from the mortgage market, management expressed confidence that its advanced cloud infrastructure and AI initiatives will drive the development of new products and the expansion of its data services.

The critical question for investors is whether strategic moves, such as the Payentry alliance and the ongoing technological offensive, will be sufficient to help Equifax surpass market expectations and recover from its recent stock price declines.
