Shares of 1-800-FLOWERS experienced a sharp decline, dropping more than 5% to trade at just $4.31. This significant sell-off reflects deepening investor concerns about the company’s financial health and strategic direction, despite the recent appointment of a new chief marketing officer.

Financial Performance Under Scrutiny

The company’s third-quarter 2025 financial results revealed substantial challenges, with a net loss totaling $178.2 million. A significant portion of this loss, $138.2 million, was attributed to impairment charges. Revenue performance proved equally troubling, falling 12.6% to $331.5 million. The negative momentum continued into the fourth quarter, where revenues declined by an additional 6.7%.

Market observers are questioning whether newly appointed marketing chief Melanie Babcock can successfully steer the company’s turnaround efforts. The former Home Depot executive faces the formidable task of accelerating digital transformation initiatives while strengthening customer loyalty programs in a highly competitive market environment.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying 1-800-Flowers?

Wall Street Sentiment Remains Cautious

Financial analysts maintain a cautious stance toward the floral retailer’s prospects. The consensus rating currently stands at “Reduce,” with an average price target of $7.50. Technical indicators suggest the stock remains in a downward trajectory despite appearing oversold in the near term. The equity has already surrendered 16.6% of its value over the past month.

All attention now turns to the upcoming quarterly report scheduled for October 30. Investors await evidence that the company’s “Celebrations Wave” strategy will finally deliver measurable results, or whether the floral retailer faces further setbacks in its recovery efforts.
