Principal Financial Group has once again demonstrated its financial strength with impressive third-quarter 2025 results that exceeded market expectations, coupled with another dividend increase for shareholders. The financial services provider continues its pattern of rewarding investors while posting robust operational performance.

Dividend Growth Streak Continues

Shareholders of Principal have additional reason for celebration as the company announces its ninth consecutive quarterly dividend increase. The new distribution of $0.79 per share represents an 8% rise compared to the same period last year. This payment will be distributed on December 19, 2025, to investors holding shares as of December 3, 2025.

The company’s commitment to returning value to shareholders was further evidenced by its third-quarter capital returns totaling $398 million. This consistent pattern of dividend growth underscores Principal’s dedication to shareholder value and financial discipline.

Exceptional Quarterly Performance

Principal’s operational results for Q3 2025 showcased substantial growth across key metrics. Adjusted earnings per share climbed 13% to reach $2.32, comfortably surpassing analyst consensus estimates of $2.20. The company’s operating income showed even stronger momentum, advancing 15% to $474 million.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Principal?

Assets under management reached a record $784 billion, representing a 4% increase from the previous quarter. This achievement highlights Principal’s continued growth trajectory and successful asset gathering capabilities. The company’s Specialty Benefits segment performed particularly well, contributing significantly to the overall positive results.

Key Performance Indicators:
* Adjusted EPS: $2.32 (13% year-over-year increase)
* Quarterly dividend: $0.79 (8% higher than year-ago quarter)
* Assets under management: $784 billion (4% quarterly growth)
* Q3 shareholder returns: $398 million

Market Implications and Investor Appeal

The combination of strong operational performance and continued dividend growth presents a compelling case for investors. Principal’s ability to consistently exceed its long-term forecasts while simultaneously increasing shareholder returns demonstrates robust financial health and disciplined capital management.

For income-focused investors, Principal becomes increasingly attractive with this latest announcement. The extended streak of dividend increases not only reflects the company’s financial stability but also its commitment to sustainably sharing profits with shareholders. This approach positions Principal as a company focused on long-term value creation through both operational excellence and shareholder-friendly policies.
