At the recent SEMICON India 2025 conference, executives from Micron Technology delivered a significant update: the company’s entire 2025 production capacity for High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) is already sold out. This announcement, made on September 2, reinforces the optimistic guidance initially provided in August and highlights the memory chip giant’s pivotal position in supplying the artificial intelligence sector.

High-Bandwidth Memory is a critical component for AI data centers and large language models, driving an unprecedented surge in demand. These advanced chips command significantly higher prices than conventional memory, which is expected to substantially boost Micron’s profit margins and serve as a major catalyst for growth.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Micron?

The market response to the confirmation was moderately positive. Following a volatile trading session on Wednesday, Micron shares closed at $118.72, registering a modest gain of 0.2%. This tempered reaction suggests that investors had largely anticipated this positive news, having already factored in the strong HBM demand following the company’s upgraded forecasts the previous month.

All eyes are now on Micron’s upcoming earnings report scheduled for September 23. The release of its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results will serve as a crucial test for the company’s AI-driven narrative. Market analysts are projecting robust growth figures, particularly within its DRAM sales segment. The key focus will be on whether this soaring demand translates into concrete financial performance and how management frames its outlook for the upcoming fiscal year. This guidance will likely be the primary determinant for the stock’s ability to sustain its upward trajectory.
