Investor sentiment towards Salesforce has been battered after a punishing year on the markets and a significant erosion of confidence, leaving the software behemoth in a precarious position. Yet, a recent data release, emerging directly from the Thanksgiving weekend, has introduced a potential catalyst for change just as pessimism seemed to be peaking. The critical question for the market is whether this signals the beginning of a sustainable recovery or merely a temporary respite before the next downturn.

The Crucial Quarterly Report Looms

All eyes are now fixed on the upcoming quarterly results, scheduled for release on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. This earnings report is widely viewed as a potential inflection point for the company’s stock. Wall Street’s expectations are clearly delineated, placing specific pressure on Salesforce to deliver.

  • Revenue: Market experts are anticipating sales of approximately $10.26 billion.
  • Earnings: The consensus forecast for earnings per share stands at $2.85.
  • AI Scrutiny: Every comment regarding the monetization trajectory of the “Agentforce” AI platform will be intensely analyzed by investors.

This high-stakes report arrives as the equity trades in crisis mode. Having plummeted nearly 39% since the start of the year and hovering close to its 52-week low of around 196 euros, Salesforce has significantly underperformed its broader technology sector peers.

E-commerce Data Provides a Counter-Narrative

Challenging the prevailing negative macro-economic outlook, Salesforce has presented concrete evidence of its platforms’ ongoing critical role in global commerce. According to the company’s own analysis, online sales in the United States on Thanksgiving Day alone reached $8.6 billion—a solid 6% year-over-year increase. Globally, digital consumer spending climbed even higher, hitting $13.1 billion.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Salesforce?

These figures represent far more than mere statistics. They serve as a powerful demonstration to shareholders that the company’s digital infrastructure, most notably its Commerce Cloud, is operating at full capacity despite the widespread skepticism. The substantial transaction volume acts as a direct rebuttal to fears of waning growth, proving sustained and intensive usage across its extensive customer base.

A Market Poised Between Skepticism and Opportunity

Despite the encouraging commerce data, a cautious tone persists among research analysts. Some institutions, including Citigroup, have recently tempered their price targets, yet they maintain a fundamental “buy” stance on the shares. This creates a palpable tension: the dramatic chasm between the stock’s severe de-rating and its projected revenue growth could set the stage for a powerful re-rating should the quarterly results deliver a positive surprise.

In the immediate term, market participants will be watching to see how equity markets respond to the robust sales data during the shortened Black Friday trading session. While the foundation for a potential rebound appears to be in place, the definitive directional cue will come from the quarterly numbers. The ultimate challenge for Salesforce is to conclusively demonstrate that the current valuation gap is unjustified.
