Hesai Group has achieved a significant industry first, reporting its inaugural full-year net profit under GAAP standards. This milestone makes the LiDAR specialist the first company in its sector to reach full-year profitability. The achievement was powered by a year of record-breaking performance in 2025, though investor sentiment has since been dampened by a more guarded short-term outlook for the beginning of 2026.
Profitability and Scale Reach New Highs
The company’s financial results for 2025 revealed a net income of 435.9 million RMB. This transition into the black was fueled by an extraordinary expansion in delivery volumes, which more than tripled year-over-year to surpass 1.6 million units. A major contributor to this growth was the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) segment, which accounted for the bulk of shipments.
Despite the rapid scaling of operations, Hesai’s management maintained firm control over profitability, holding the gross margin steady at 41.8%. The firm has also solidified its role as a key supplier, commanding over 40% of the market for long-range automotive LiDAR sensors and serving China’s ten largest vehicle manufacturers.

Market Reaction to Conservative Q1 Forecast
The positive annual narrative, however, has been clouded by the company’s near-term projection. For the first quarter of 2026, Hesai has provided revenue guidance in a range of 650 to 700 million RMB. This forecast fell short of market expectations, as many participants had anticipated a stronger start to the new year.
The market’s response to these conservative targets was swift. Shares declined sharply, currently trading at 18.40 Euros, a drop of nearly ten percent. This movement extends the distance from the 52-week high of 24.80 Euros, though the price remains well above the low seen in November 2025.
Long-Term Ambitions Remain Intact
Looking beyond the immediate quarter, Hesai’s leadership has set ambitious goals for the full year 2026, targeting shipments of up to 3.5 million units. To support this planned scale-up, the company intends to expand its annual production capacity to over four million sensors. A central pillar of this growth strategy involves continuing its international technology partnerships, including its collaboration with NVIDIA for the DRIVE platform.
