Strategy Inc., the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has reinforced its core investment thesis with another major acquisition of Bitcoin. The latest purchase, funded through an equity offering, further expands its colossal cryptocurrency holdings while the firm also announces an increased dividend for one class of its preferred shares.

Equity Sales Fuel Crypto Accumulation

According to a mandatory filing dated March 2, Strategy Inc. acquired an additional 3,015 Bitcoin between February 23 and March 1, 2026. The total expenditure for this purchase was approximately $204.1 million, resulting in an average price per Bitcoin of around $67,700.

The capital for this investment was raised entirely through the sale of the company’s own equity. Net proceeds from these sales totaled roughly $237.1 million. This sum comprises $229.9 million from the sale of 1,730,563 Class A common stock shares and a further $7.2 million from the sale of 71,590 preferred shares.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Strategy?

Treasury Nears Three-Quarters of a Million Bitcoin

This strategic acquisition brings Strategy Inc.’s total Bitcoin treasury to 720,737 coins. The aggregate purchase price for the entire portfolio now stands at an estimated $54.77 billion. This move solidifies the firm’s standing as one of the world’s preeminent corporate holders of the digital asset.

Dividend Hike for Preferred Shareholders

Concurrent with its Bitcoin buying spree, the company’s board of directors approved a dividend increase for holders of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock (STRC). The annual dividend rate has been raised from 11.25% to 11.50%. This new rate is effective for monthly periods beginning March 1, 2026. The next distribution is scheduled for March 31, payable to shareholders of record as of March 15.

The company’s pattern is clear for investors to see: Strategy Inc. is persistently leveraging capital markets to grow its Bitcoin reserves. The long-term success of this aggressive strategy remains intrinsically linked to the future price trajectory of the cryptocurrency.
